If you operate in Construction, Agriculture, Manufacturing, or any high-risk industry in California, February 1st isn’t just another Sunday – it’s the official start of the Cal/OSHA Form 300A Posting Period.
Every year, I see the same panic. A frantic search for data, a messy spreadsheet, and a business owner hoping they don’t get audited. But compliance doesn’t have to be chaos.
Here is exactly what you need to do this week to stay compliant and audit-proof.
1. The Posting Requirement (The Basics)
From February 1st to April 30th, you must physically post a copy of the Cal/OSHA Form 300A (Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses) in a conspicuous place where employee notices are usually found, such as the breakroom or near the time clock.
Crucial Note: You must post this form even if you had ZERO recordable injuries in 2025. A blank form with zeros is compliant; a missing form is a citation.
You can download the official blank form directly from the Department of Industrial Relations here: Download the Cal/OSHA Form 300A (PDF).
2. The “Hidden” Electronic Deadline (March 2nd)
Posting the paper form on your bulletin board is only half the battle. Many employers overlook the Electronic Submission Requirement.
ou are required to submit your Form 300A data electronically to the federal Injury Tracking Application (ITA) by March 2, 2026, if:
-
You have 250 or more employees in any industry.
-
OR You have 20-249 employees in a “High-Risk Industry” (which includes Construction, Agriculture, Utilities, Manufacturing, and many others).
You can verify your industry codes and submit your data via the secure portal here: Access the OSHA Injury Tracking Application (ITA).
3. The Executive Certification
The Form 300A cannot be signed by just anyone. It must be certified by a company executive (Owner, Officer, or highest-ranking official at the site).
This signature certifies that the data is correct. If your data is messy, you are asking your CEO to sign a legal document that might be false.
